Established in 1980 along with 6 other national parks, national wildlife refuges, national monuments, wild and scenic rivers, recreational areas, national forests, and conservation areas in the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act. Kenai Fjords mainly protects the Harding Icefield and the glaciers, fjords, and islands formed by this great icefield.  The design is inspired by a northwestern fjord that features a grand glacier feeding into the fjord and a small island shaped by the ice. It's a great gift for hiker friends, outdoorsy folk, or just about any kind of nature lover who enjoys the outdoors.
